From July to September 2026, 99,487 Telegram usernames sold on-chain for about 9.45 million GRAM (formerly TON), roughly $13.8M at today's price. The quarter's top sale was @polymarket at 354,900 GRAM in July, and no later sale reached even a quarter of that. The market stayed a steep pyramid: 77% of sales closed at 10 GRAM or less, while the 1,204 sales of 1,000 GRAM or more, 1.2% of the total, brought in 71% of the money. Four-letter names alone were half the quarter's volume, and their share grew every month.
Telegram usernames trade as collectibles on the TON blockchain through Fragment, a third-party marketplace, so every sale settles in public with a readable price. We index those records continuously. This is the first quarterly edition of our market report, which started as a monthly series with July 2026: what sold from July to September 2026, for how much, and how the market moved month to month.
All figures are recorded on-chain sales with transaction times from July 1 to September 30, 2026, counted on October 9, 2026. Amounts are in GRAM, the token every sale settles in. It was called TON until June 2026 and converted 1:1, so the TON figures in earlier reports compare directly. Dollar figures use today's price of about $1.46 and move with the token. Sales completed through private flows may carry no readable on-chain price and are not counted.

| Top sale | @polymarket, 354,900 | @human, 86,666 | @schizo, 53,550 |
Volume rose every month even though the number of sales peaked in August. The difference is the mix. The average sale climbed from 81 GRAM in July to 110 GRAM in September, and the share of sales at the 10 GRAM floor eased from 79% to 75%. The driver was 4-letter names: their sales rose from 194 in July to 342 in September, and since every one of them sells in the thousands, they went from 42% of July's volume to 59% of September's.
The very top moved the other way. August had the quarter's most five-figure sales, 20 of them, and September half as many. After @polymarket at the end of July, no sale came close: August's best was @human at 86,666 GRAM, September's was @schizo at 53,550 GRAM.
The quarter's top sales
Nine of the ten drew bids from at least two wallets. The exception is @president: one bidder, one bid, 40,500 GRAM. Just outside the top ten, @burn (30,000 GRAM) and @cats (29,500 GRAM) also sold on a single bid. For the biggest sales of all time, see our ranking of the most expensive Telegram usernames ever sold, where @polymarket now sits 14th.
The market is still a pyramid
Group the quarter's 99,487 sales by price and the shape is the same one we found for July alone:
- 10 GRAM or less: 76,645 sales (77% of all sales) producing 717,428 GRAM, just 7.6% of volume. Most of them, 64,167, settled at 10 GRAM, the usual opening bid; the rest closed on auctions that opened lower.
- Over 10, under 100 GRAM: 13,445 sales (13.5%) producing about 419,000 GRAM, 4.4% of volume.
- 100 to 999 GRAM: 8,193 sales (8.2%) producing 1.57 million GRAM, 16.6% of volume.
- 1,000 GRAM and up: 1,204 sales (1.2%) producing 6.75 million GRAM, 71.4% of all volume. Forty-five of them cleared 10,000 GRAM.
The median sale was 10 GRAM. The average, 95 GRAM, describes almost no actual sale: it is pulled up by the top 1%, which is why we report the distribution instead.
Length economics: 4 and 5 letters
| Name length | Sales | At 10 GRAM or less | Sold for 100+ GRAM | Sold for 1,000+ GRAM | Share of all volume |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 characters | 802 | 0% | 100% | 100% | 50.6% |
| 5 characters | 24,276 | 73.3% | 9.7% | 0.5% | 13.1% |
| 6 characters | 14,930 | 76.1% | 10.1% | 0.6% | 9.2% |
| 7 characters | 12,248 | 76.5% | 9.3% | 0.6% | 6.1% |
| 8 or more | 47,231 | 80.7% | 7.6% | 0.3% | 21.0% |
4-letter names were 802 sales and 4.78 million GRAM, half the quarter's money. Not one sold below 2,400 GRAM. The typical sale was about 5,750 GRAM (about $8,400), and the middle half sold between about 5,400 and 5,970 GRAM. The range is that tight because the price is mostly set when the auction opens: every 4-letter auction we saw open from July 7 onward started at 5,000 GRAM or more, and 88% of the quarter's 4-letter sales closed on a single bid, with nobody bidding against the opener. Thirteen cleared 10,000 GRAM, led by @cole at 66,666.
5-letter names, the shortest length anyone can register in the app, made up 24,276 sales. The median was 10 GRAM and 73% closed at 10 GRAM or less. Fewer than one in ten reached 100 GRAM, and 110 reached 1,000. Nine 5-letter sales cleared 10,000 GRAM, @human the biggest, and those nine alone were 22% of all 5-letter volume.
| Sale price | 4-letter sales | 5-letter sales |
|---|---|---|
| 10 GRAM or less | 0 | 17,806 (73.3%) |
| Over 10, under 100 | 0 | 4,123 (17.0%) |
| 100 to 999 | 0 | 2,237 (9.2%) |
| 1,000 to 4,999 | 88 (11.0%) | 86 (0.4%) |
| 5,000 to 9,999 | 701 (87.4%) | 15 (0.1%) |
| 10,000 and up | 13 (1.6%) | 9 (under 0.1%) |
Typical against typical, a 4-letter name sold for about 575 times a 5-letter one. Length is not a discount curve; below five characters it is a different asset. You can browse recorded prices for each tier on the 4-letter and 5-letter market pages.
Bid wars: most names sell on the first bid
Counting only bids that raised the price, 89,476 of the quarter's sales, 90%, closed on a single bid: whoever opened the auction won it. Those uncontested sales still carried 70% of the money, because most 4-letter names sell that way. About one sale in ten drew a counter-bid, and 408 auctions saw 20 or more raises, with a median final price of 217 GRAM.
The most contested auctions were not the most expensive ones:
The biggest climbs also started at the bottom. @schizo opened at 10 GRAM and sold for 53,550, and @superior (27,300 GRAM), @rollsroyce (25,000 GRAM) and @hydra (16,661 GRAM) all opened at the same 10 GRAM. Names like these are why it pays to hear about an auction when it opens rather than when it ends, which is what Fragment auction alerts are for.
What changed since the July edition
- July's numbers were revised up. The July edition counted 27,370 sales and 2.22 million GRAM. After we imported the full on-chain history in September, July stands at 33,020 sales and 2.67 million GRAM. @polymarket is still its top sale.
- Prices moved upmarket. The average sale rose from 81 GRAM in July to 110 GRAM in September, and the share of sales at 10 GRAM or less fell from 79% to 75%.
- 4-letter names took over the money. They went from 194 sales in July to 342 in September, and from 42% of the month's volume to 59%.
- The very top cooled. Sales of 10,000 GRAM or more went from 15 in July to 20 in August and 10 in September, and nothing after July came near @polymarket.
- The pyramid held. The July edition found fewer than 1% of sales producing about 70% of volume. Across the quarter, 1.2% produced 71%.
Every figure in this report comes from public on-chain records: sales settled through Fragment's on-chain auctions with transaction times from July 1 to September 30, 2026, counted on October 9, 2026. A few sales are recorded days after they settle, so September's totals may still rise slightly. Bid counts include only bids that raised the price, and auction openings are counted from July 7, 2026, when we began recording them. Historical prices are facts about past transactions, not valuations or predictions. NameSniper is not affiliated with Telegram or Fragment.
What this means if you want a name
The floor is cheap and crowded: three sales in four closed at 10 GRAM or less, about $15. Real words and short brandable names trade in the hundreds. A 4-letter name costs roughly what its auction opens at, around 5,000 to 6,000 GRAM, unless a second bidder shows up. And the top of the market is a few dozen five- and six-figure sales a quarter.
Before you bid, look up what the name, and names like it, actually sold for with our Telegram username checker. Our guide to buying or selling a Telegram username covers wallets, fees and the identity check. If you are hunting a kind of name rather than one name, Fragment auction alerts message you in Telegram when a matching auction gets its first bid or is about to end.
We now publish this report quarterly. The next edition covers October to December 2026, and the live market board updates continuously in between.
